What Length Paddle Do I Need?

The ideal paddle length depends on both your body height and your paddling style. Shorter setups work better for surf-oriented paddling, while longer paddles provide more reach and efficiency for all-round and touring use.

Fiberglass shafts and blades are stiffer than aluminum but not as stiff as carbon. Their lower weight also reduces unwanted inertia. Carbon is lighter still, but also more direct, more specialized and significantly more expensive.
